Payment Processing and Mature Content Authors on Ream
We know there’s been concern in the author community about payment processing when offering mature content, so we want to address those concerns. ❤️
Different payment processors have different policies regarding mature content as you may have encountered, and recently our payment processor Stripe has updated their Terms of Use.
To be clear, Stripe has not changed their position on offering payment processing to creators of mature content.
Ream continues to support mature content on our platform!
We recognize the importance of diverse creative stories and remain dedicated to offering a space where creators can share their work freely, and we are aware of discussions and concerns within the community about potential changes in payment processing policies.
Currently, Stripe's policies permit this content, provided that creators comply with all applicable laws and regulations. We make sure to stay informed about any Stripe or government policy updates that could affect our platform and Ream authors.
To ensure the continued support of mature content and the stability of payment processing:
- We actively monitor any developments in payment processing policies and industry standards to anticipate and respond to changes promptly.
- In the event of significant policy shifts, we are prepared to add alternative payment processing options to maintain uninterrupted service for our creators.
- We’ve already begun exploring additional payment options to add to the platform.
