Single Sales Books on Ream (For Readers)
Ream is a publishing platform where readers can discover, purchase, and enjoy stories directly from their favorite authors. Readers can follow authors, purchase books through Single Sales, join subscriptions for exclusive content, and build a personal library of stories across ebooks, serial fiction, audiobooks, and comics.
Overview
📚On Ream, single sales now allows readers to buy completed books with a one-time payment, and without needing a subscription. Once purchased, the book remains available in your Ream library permanently.
What Can You Buy as a Single Sale?
Single sales on Ream currently include:
- Completed e-books only
- Audiobooks and Comics coming soon!
- Just like stories read with a subscription in Ream's eReader, Single Sales will also automatically track bookmarks for readers. In addition, if a reader purchases the single sales version of a book mid-way through reading a book, you will still have your bookmark and be able to 'jump' to where you left off.
- Authors may offer limited time discounts or a discount if you purchase an e-book and subscribe to one of their tiers
You cannot purchase:
- Individual chapters
- In-progress stories
- Ongoing serials
- If your Ream account is not active or has been restricted in any way
Note: In-progress stories and serial fiction may be available through subscriptions or free access instead.
How Single Sales Work for Readers
When you buy a single sale:
- You pay once
- The book unlocks immediately
- You are notified of access via email notification
- Access does not expire
- The book remains available even if you never subscribe
Single sales are separate from subscriptions, unless a combination discount is offered by the author (see above)
Single Sales vs Subscriptions For Readers
- Single Sales: One-time purchase of a completed book
- Subscriptions: Ongoing access to serialized or exclusive content
Some authors offer both options. Others may use only one.
Where to Find Your Purchased Books
After purchase:
- The book appears in your Ream library under Books
- You can access it anytime while logged in - just click the ♥️ card icon in the carousel on your device at the bottom of the app
You'll also receive an email confirmation of your purchase, and can click to read your book from there.
- Note: you do not need an active subscription to continue reading a single sales purchase
Refunds and Access
Refunds for Single Sales purchases may be requested IF:
- it has been Less than 14 days since the date of purchase
- you have Not read more than 20% of the story
Refunds and access rules for single sales follow Ream’s platform policies.
