Current Tariffs and How These May Affect Sales
Please Note: The Information Below May Change At Any Time
What are tariffs?
Tariffs are taxes imposed on imported goods and services.
In this case it is a U.S. government tax levied on foreign goods imported into the country.
As many of you already know, the U.S. implemented tariffs on various countries recently, adjusting and then readjusting the percentage several times.
The tax percentage being imposed depends on the type of goods being imported. For example, the tariff imposed on imported Automobiles may be different than importing a book.
How do Tariffs affect me?
If you are in a country other than the U.S. and you are sending physical goods to subscribers and readers within the U.S., a tariff will be applied to the duty paid at the border based on the cost of the item being imported.
That increased cost will be paid by your subscriber/ reader.
Please note: at this time, only physical goods are being affected. Items like e-books, audiobooks and any digital media are not currently affected.
