How to Create Single Sales E-Books/ Audiobooks on Ream
One of our most requested features has arrived!
Ream is a publishing platform that allows authors to publish stories, build a readership, and earn income directly from readers. Authors can publish serial fiction, e-books, audiobooks, and comics while using discovery, community, subscriptions, and Single Sales to grow their audience and business. Authors can sell e-books/ audiobooks directly on Ream using the platform's built-in tools and settings.
Authors can now sell e-books/audiobooks directly on Ream through Single Sales.
Readers can purchase and permanently unlock eligible stories without having to maintain an active subscription.
Single Sales includes tools for:
- Creating one-time e-book/audiobook purchases
- Automatic delivery notification via secure email
- Scheduling e-book/audiobook releases
- Creating reader pre-orders
- Automatic delivery notification on release day
Single Sales:
Just like our subscriptions, you keep 90% of the sale price after payment processing fees and any discounts you give out.
Authors can choose whether content is available through Subscriptions, Single Sales, or Both, giving creators more flexibility in how they publish and monetize their content.
Membership discounts can be used to reward existing supporters with reduced pricing, while timed discounts make it easy to run launch sales and limited-time offers. Set a hard date to encourage a quicker response.
Single Sales Pre-Orders OR Publish Now:
Pre-Orders
Authors can now accept pre-orders before a completed book is released.
Readers who pre-order a book will automatically receive access when the release goes live. No additional action is required after checkout.
For authors, pre-orders provide a way to build excitement around upcoming releases, measure reader interest before launch, and generate sales momentum leading up to release day.
Readers will be able to see when a book is scheduled to release and reserve their copy in advance, helping ensure they never miss a launch from their favorite author.

If your book is already complete, or has already been published as part of a subscription, you can Publish Now.

Reader Purchases:
Readers who purchase an e-book through Single Sales receive permanent access to the edition they purchased. Future updates to the book will never remove access to content that was included with the original purchase. https://reamstories.com/policy/terms
Reader Refunds:
Readers have the option to refund their purchase if the following criteria apply:
- they have read more than 20% of a story or,
- it has been less than 14 days from date of payment
They cannot request a refund more than two weeks after payment, and not if they've read more than 20% of the story.
Note: Funds for Single Sales will be held in escrow until the two week period has passed.

Analytics:
Authors who release single sales will be able to see reader analytics within Story Pulse. Authors can view both chapter retention and the new paragraph heatmaps.
Troubleshooting:
If publishing fails, please be sure
- your book is complete including cover and details, and a price of .99 or more is selected
- use the Retry option to publish again
- if publishing fails again, please log out of Ream, clear your browser cache and log back into Ream
- try publishing a final time
- if this continues, please contact Support at support@reamstories.com with your author page URL, your book title and the price you've set for it
