How to Unpublish Chapters or Delete Stories

If you are planning to enroll your books into an exclusive program like Kindle Unlimited or want to unpublish certain chapters from specific tiers, then it is likely you've wondered if you could unpublish an entire story from specific tiers (or entirely) in one click.

The answer is Yes!

You can navigate to the Stories page of your Author Dashboard, click the Edit button on your story, and choose Delete.

Please note: this is not reversable, so be sure you have a copy stored somewhere before you click Delete!

To unpublish only certain chapters on Ream, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to your author dashboard.

2. Click on the “Stories” tab on the left side of your screen if on laptop or desktop. If you are on a mobile device the “Stories” tab will be an icon at the bottom of your screen.

3. Click edit on the story that you’d like to unpublish.

4. Click on the Publishing tab once inside the story.

5. Scroll down to the bottom of the Publishing page to a section called Published Chapters.

6. Click on the Publishing Records pane to expand the section and view each chapter you have published to each tier in your story.

7. Now you can go to each chapter and unpublish them individually from each tier.

Note: if you are looking to delete your book to be eligible for programs like Kindle Unlimited, unpublishing all your chapters from Ream will make your story eligible once it's no longer live or viewable on the platform.
