Our payment processor, Stripe, charges a 0.5% fee on all recurring transactions. This means that every transaction part of your subscriptions has a 0.5% fee tacked onto it. This fee is in place to enable automatic payment retries with associated banks and card networks.

This ability helps authors recoup ~70% of failed payments without any intervention or contact with their readers. With 5 - 7% of payments failing routinely each month due to issues like expired credit cards or unavailable balances, this 0.5% fee recoups our authors on average 3 - 4% extra revenue each month.
