How to Enable Payouts on Ream

First, go to your author dashboard inside Ream. Then, navigate to the Income page at: https://reamstories.com/creator-hub/income/payouts


Once here, click the button to enable payouts, and select Ream Managed or Direct. If you are unsure whether to select Direct or Ream Managed, check out our comparison guide here


Once you make a selection, you are unable to switch between Ream Managed and Direct.


Clicking the button will take you immediately to the onboarding portal where you will enter your information for income tax reporting and payouts. 


Before setting up for payouts on Ream in the Direct integration, you will need to have the following information ready.


If making an account as an Individual:

  • Legal Name (First, Last)
  • Email to be used on account (Best if same as Ream Email)
  • Date of birth
  • Home Address
  • Phone Number
  • Last 4 digits of SSN (if in United States)
  • General Idea of content you are providing
  • Website, anything that links to your business. Linktree, Facebook, Internet store, or author website to help verify your account.

If making an account as a Company:

  • Business Name
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • Doing business as (DBA) Optional*
  • Business address
  • General Idea of content you are providing
  • SSN and Legal Name of an Officer in the Company
  • Website, anything that links to your business. Linktree, Facebook, Internet store, or business website to help verify your account.

If using Ream Managed, you will need the following information:

  • Legal Name (First, Last)
  • Email to be used on account (Best if same as Ream Email)
  • Date of birth
  • Home Address
  • Phone Number
  • Last 4 digits of SSN (if in the United States)

If making an account as a Company based in the United States:

  • Business Name
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • Business address

Note that the above requirements are subject to change based on your location and local regulations. At Ream, we partner with Stripe for KYC (Know Your Customer) and payout onboarding. 


Stripe stores all of your payout information and personal information with encryption, and enterprise-grade security.
